LAHORE: A three-day skill competition was held among the trainees of 11 technical colleges situated in seven districts of Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) Central Zone at Govt College of Technology, Railway Road, Lahore.

A large number of renowned industrialists, employers, faculty members of UET Lahore and general public witnessed the competition.

As many as 95 projects were on display, including 21 mechanical, 18 foundry and pattern making, 13 civil, 13 electronics, eight electrical, seven auto and diesel, three auto and farm, two instrumentation, two automation, two telecommunication, two food preservation, two architecture, one computer and one refrigeration and air-conditioning technologies. Students of Tevta colleges from Lahore, Sahiwal, Pindi Bhattian, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, Nankana, Gujrat and Mandi Bahaud Din took part in the competition.

Govt College of Technology Railway Road Lahore, Govt College of Technology Sialkot and Govt Swedish Pakistani College of Technology Gujrat won first three positions respectively.

Addressing the closing ceremony, Chief Operating Officer, Tevta, Jawad Ahmed Qureshi said Tevta institutes were playing vital role in uplifting of industry through provision of technically skilled workforce and vowed to improve the quality of technical education. President Board of Management, Tevta Lahore, Sheikh Muhammad Arshad and President Board of Management, Tevta Okara, Mian Shahid Rafi also addressed the closing ceremony.
