SIALKOT: Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Margaret Adamson has said that there is wide scope of mutual cooperation between Australia and Pakistan.

While addressing the members of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Australian HC said that we are ready to cooperate with Pakistan in various sectors including energy, exploration of natural resources, agriculture, IT, health and education for the economic uplift of Pakistan.

She said that water conservation and its optimum utilization was another area of mutual interest for Australia and Pakistan as both could face water shortage in the future.

While expressing her hope she said that strong cooperation in this regard will help both the countries to cope with this challenge.

She said that business communities of both the countries should concentrate on developing and strengthening trade relations. On this occasion she lauded the efforts of the business community of Sialkot for taking different projects including Sialkot Airport on self-help basis.

In his address of welcome President SCCI Mansoor Ahmed said that we are looking forward for enhancing the trade volume with Australia.

Mansoor informed the house that Sialkot through its export is earning US two billion dollars annually.

Earlier, Australian HC also visited the membership section of the chamber and appreciated the mechanism adopted for processing the visa applications of the members.
