LAHORE: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) while carrying out 9 operations recovered 67 Kg of Hashish, 2.065 Kg Heroin and 1.5 Kg Ice. During operations, ANF also arrested 12 persons on drug charges and seized four vehicles.

Giving details of the operations, ANF spokesman Col. Habib said that ANF Lahore Airport Team in an operation conducted at Faisalabad Airport, arrested two suspected individuals, identified as Obaid-ur-Rehman and Qamar Shahzad, both residents of Faisalabad. During interrogation, they confessed of having Heroin filled capsules. They intended to board for Colombo by Qatar Airways.

ANF Peshawar during routine checking near Motorway Toll Plaza, Rashakai intercepted a car and recovered 10 Kg Charas concealed in secret cavities of the said car. Two persons on board named Muhammad Yasin and Usman Alam, both residents of Peshawar were also arrested during the operation.

Further, ANF Peshawar stopped a Suzuki Alto car near New Toll Plaza, Kohat and recovered 3.6 Kg Charas during search of the car, also arresting Rahat Shah resident of Khyber Agency at the spot. ANF Peshawar also recovered 49.000 Kg Hashish form an unattended Honda Civic car parked near Afghan Adda, Kacha Ghari Jamrud Road, Peshawar.

ANF Karachi raided a bus stop at Fateh Chowk, Hyderabad and arrested a local drug peddler named Niaz Muhammad along with recovery of 2.1 Kg Charas, which was found in his personal possession. In another operation, ANF Karachi Airport Team detained a passenger named Jamshed Ahmed at Jinnah International Airport, who confessed of having Heroin-filled capsules. The accused was scheduled to board for Thailand by Thai Air Flight No. TG-342.

Further, ANF Karachi Airport Team also Intercepted a passenger named Abdul Waqas at Jinnah International Airport and recovered 1.03 Kg Heroin concealed in his luggage. The accused intended to board for Malaysia. After initial investigations, his accomplice was also arrested from nearby area along with 1.035 Kg Heroin.

ANF Quetta while intercepting a Toyota Corolla Car recovered 1.5 Kg Ice concealed inside the car. Two persons on board namely Muhammad Khan and Muhammad Shahi were taken into custody. Further, ANF Quetta held a local drug peddler named Janan Khan and recovered 2 Kg Charas from his possession. He was arrested from Quetta City.

The spokesman said that all cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigation is underway.
