LAHORE: Spanish Ambassador Carlos Morales met Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussein at his residence on Tuesday and discussed matters of mutual interest and possibility of cooperation among two countries in different fields.

Talking on the occasion, Spanish diplomat said, “Spanish companies consider Pakistan as an attractive business destination which has a lot to offer to the investors.” Emphasising the need of institutionalised relationship between the two countries, Morales said the two sides should come up with a new strategy to initiate joint ventures in the areas of common interest. He said the rapid economic growth in Pakistan was attracting the attention of Spanish SME sector and both countries must take advantage of each other’s expertise. “We want progress of Pakistan like Turkey,” he said.

Carlos Morales also stressed the need for portraying soft image of Pakistan among the comity of nations. He also showed his interest for resumption of PIA direct flight to Barcelona so that passengers can benefit from the facility of direct flight. He also extended invitation to PML-Q President for visit to Spain.

The PML-Q President stressed the need for promotion Pak-Spain trade ties. He said Pakistanis residing in Spain are playing pivotal role in the development of the country.

The honorary Consulate of Combodia, Chaudhry Salik Hussein, honorary Consulate of Austria, Abad ur Rehman, honorary Consulate of Brazil, Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry, Shafaay Hussein, Mian Misbah ur Rehman, Javed Chattha and Rana Khalid were also present.
