SHANGHAI: A Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs official in Shanghai, Fu Jihong, on Monday said that they fully stand by Pakistan to implement Economic corridor project which he hoped will prove a milestone in further cementing bilateral relations for a win-win situation.

Jinhong, while meeting a visiting Pakistani media delegation, said that a number of Shanghai’s entrepreneurs have showed willingness to invest in Pakistan and undertake joint ventures under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

He further added that Shanghai is a sister city of Karachi and the two sides have developed strong interaction through frequent bilateral visits both at official and people-to-people level.

CPEC is a game-changer in socio-economic sector, not only for the two countries but the region as a whole, he said, adding that the Chinese leadership attached great importance to CPEC that is a part of President Xi Jinping’s vision of One belt One road.

It was being implemented on fast-track basis with equal participation from the people of both sides, he said.

The official spoke high of Sino-Pak deep-rooted ties and said it is exemplary one in country-to-country relationship world over.

He invited the Pakistani businessmen to visit this financial capital of China (Shanghai) to explore trade and business activities of bilateral interest. He assured that the Shanghai’s government will extend them all possible support in establishing business houses.

Answering a question regarding cooperation between two sides under the charter of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), he hoped Pakistan’s entry into SCO as a full-member will open up new avenues of their bilateral cooperation for promoting peace, stability and development at bilateral and regional level.—INP
