CHICAGO: Spot basis bids for hard red winter wheat (HRW) were steady to firmer on Monday, grain dealers said.

The US Gulf track basis rose by 4 cents, to 79 cents over the K.C. July HRW wheat futures contract.

Rains stalled harvesting in central Kansas over the weekend, the Kansas Wheat Commission said.

The US Department of Agriculture said the US winter wheat harvest was 25 percent complete as of Sunday. Progress reached 55 percent in Oklahoma and Texas, while the Kansas crop was 25 percent harvested.
