HYDERABAD: Chief Executive Officer Hyderabad Electric Supply Company Akhtar Ali Randhawa has appealed to the apex court to issue directives of providing protection to life of Hesco officers so that they could discharge their responsibilities without any fear or chaos.

In an appeal to the apex court here on Saturday, the Hesco Chief said that officers and employees of his organization have been engaged in recovery of outstanding dues and eliminate power theft in the region, however, they are receiving threats of life from lawbreakers.

The Hesco spokesman informed that the Chief Executive Officer made such appeal to the apex court following issuance of threats of dire consequences to Executive Engineer Riaz Pathan, Sub-Divisional Officer Operation Sub-Division Tando Muhammad Khan Manzoor Magsi and other line staff who unearthed nine illegal electric poles from an agriculture farm along Buleri Shah Kareem Road and registered an FIR of armed attack on staff by the employees of the farm as a result of which three Hesco employees including Line Superintendent-I received injuries.

Both the officers were being forced to withdraw the case which registered by them at Tando Muhammad Khan Police Station in Case No-215/2016, the spokesman informed and added that a false FIR has also been registered by the owner of the said agriculture farm against Hesco officers.

The spokesman said that Hesco Chief has already issued clear directives to officers and employees to disconnect the power connections of defaulters irrespective of their political or organizational affiliation and influence.

The power thieves would not get relief any cost and indiscriminate action remained continue for hundred percent recovery of outstanding dues in Hesco region, the spokesman said.
