KARACHI: Delegates and companies from about 20 countries have confirmed their participation in the Industrial, Electrical & Electronics Exhibition of Pakistan (IEEEP) – the Pakistan’s largest international electrical and electronic engineering fair - to be held at the Expo Centre Karachi from August 2 to 4.

Chairman IEEEP, Engr Asif Siddiqui, while commenting on the event’s details informed that Pakistan has been hosting the event for last seven years successfully providing investment avenues to potential international investors in the alternative energy sector and related industries.

Those countries, which so far have confirmed their participation are China, Turkey, Qatar, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Australia, Austria, United Kingdom, United States of America, Belize, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, Spain, South Korea, Singapore, Poland, Malaysia, Japan, Italy, Ireland and Germany, Chairman IEEEP added.

While, a large number of local companies were also attending the event in collaboration with their parent companies or headquarters, and as standalone entities, he said.

Asif Siddiqui said the event would bring together the electrical, electronics, allied industry and engineering sectors of Pakistan and from abroad to showcase vast range of products and services such as from alternative energy systems, automation & control systems, batteries, bio-diesel generation, energy storage devises & connectivity products, hydro power equipment, electrical Sockets, cables & wires and etc.

He informed that on the sideline of the exhibition seminars on the industry development would also be held for three days, in which engineers and other industry experts would deliver lecturers.

“Two international seminars and other discussion sessions are part of the fair while deals are expected to be signed between different international companies and with local investors bringing vital investment into the country,” he added.

Chairman IEEEP said Pakistan had gain a lot of attention towards business potential in Power Generation, Electrical/Electronics, Industrial Automation and Renewable/Alternate Energy System markets those days due to its geographical location on the globe and ongoing projects which were referred as ‘The Game Changer’ of the region for the world’s economy.

Badar’s Chief Executive Officer, Zohair Naseer informed that the event aimed at highlighting business opportunities in Electrical, Electronics, Renewable & Alternate Energy sector of Pakistan for global & domestic markets; Integrate allied technologies in Telecommunication, Computer and Biomedical sector, and bringing together international manufacturers and vendors to explore cooperation through joint ventures, outsourcing and collaborations under one roof.

The government has offered special incentives such as tax waivers for the import of alternative energy equipment and investment, and the companies have shown interest to capitalise on these incentives.

It is pertinent to mention the Chinese companies that are participating in the show include those who are already working on different projects in the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and it is likely that they will make fresh investment commitments in different sectors.
