KARACHI: Sui Southern Gas Company paid homage to the globally recognized servant of humanity the legendary Abdul Sattar Edhi. In this regard, a ceremony was held in SSGC’s head office auditorium in which rich tributes were paid by eminent personalities to late Edhi Saheb. Saad Edhi, grandson of Abdul Sattar Edhi was also present on the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, MD SSGC, Amin Rajput said that the death of Edhi is a national loss, as people of Pakistan have lost their Masiha. While sharing the grief with the family of Edhi Saheb, he said that there was not a single soul who did not feel the pain of his parting. SSGC gifted an ambulance to Edhi Foundation. MD assured that SSGC will always stand side by side with Edhi Foundation for supporting their activities.

Dr. Ruth Pfau, a well-known philanthropist said that Edhi was the person who lived for others.

Talking at the occasion, renowned journalist Mahmood Sham said that he was a person who came in the world with an immortal mission to serve the humanity.

While enlightening the life of Abdul Sattar Edhi, eminent social worker Sarim Burney, Media Advertising personality Shahzad Nawaz and TV anchor Nusurat Harris said that this is dilemma of our society that everybody praises people like Edhi but never try to follow his footsteps.

At the end of the ceremony ‘Edhi’s Wall of Kindness’ was inaugurated by Managing Director Amin Rajput along with Saad Edhi, ADMD (CS) Imran Farookhi, ADMD (Ops) Muhammad Waseem, ASGM D-North Nisar Shaikh, Mahmood Sham, Mazhar Abbas, Sarim Burney, Shahzad Nawaz, Anis Younus, Ajmal Shobi, SSGC’s officials Shaista Shaikh, Shahbaz Islam, Shoaib Qureshi, Salman Siddiqui, Muhammad Ali Gohar, Syed Imran Ahmed and Irfan Jafri President Officers Association.—PR
