PESHAWAR: District administration Chitral has distributed an amount of Rs.2.30 billion among the flood and earthquake affected people in a very transparent manner and not a single person alleged any kind of misappropriation and corruption in this regard.

In a statement issued here Saturday, the administration said that 7300 tents were distributed in the affectees of the earthquake, which was highest number of the distributed tents in the country and the distribution of the financial assistance and relief goods were in a record short time period in a transparent and impartial manner.

The arrival of relief goods after the earthquake of October 2015 took about one week and the district administration was having no time to waste and relief goods including tents, blankets and other items, which was stored in the store of Shandur were distributed with immediate effect.

Similarly, while taking the difficulties of the residents into consideration 300 tents, 600 blanks and other goods from Shandur store were also distributed among the affectees, its record is available in the office of the district administration and the list of the beneficiaries could also be obtained from there.

The district administration clarified that Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) did not provide any tent for Shandur festival nor provide any of funds for this purpose. Therefore, the administration ruled out the committing of the any chance of financial irregularities in such funds.

For the current year, it said that the district administration have stocked relief goods to meet any emergency situation in all 24 Union Councils of the district, which was comprised of 1300 tents, blankets and other relief goods.

It revealed that two tents were issued to president, Chitral Bar Association, Ghulam Hazrat Inqilabi advocate in which he stayed till the end of the festival. But, one night before the final of the festival, he demanded 5 more tents, 10 blankets and 10 mattresses and furthermore he also sought five seats along with chief guest on the final day, whose provision was impossible.

The statement said that Mr. Inqilabi have also threatened of dire consequences to district administration, but he was still seated on the stage, saying district administration is considering itself answerable before the people and if anyone wants to investigate, then he should come to DC Office and the administration will welcome him while they are also ready for any kind of judicial or official inquiry. However, it said that making false allegations are tantamount to crime both in law as well as in Shariah and the administration reserve right to initiate legal proceedings against such persons.
