PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KPCCI) and the City University of Sciences and Information Technology on Saturday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to make fee concession with KPCCI members’ children in MBA courses.

The MoU was signed by the KPCCI president Zulfiqar Ali Khan and City University vice chancellor Eng Prof Dr Ataullah Shah here at Chamber House. Under the MoU a special relief of 20 per cent concession in fee will be given to the children of KPCCI members’ children studying Master of Business Administration (MBA) in City University of Sciences and Information Technology, whereas various industries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will provide internship opportunities to the students of City University.

In the MoU singing ceremony KPCCI former president Malik Niaz Ahmad, chamber senior vice president Ammad Rashid, and Chamber’s Executive Committee members Muhammad Afzal, Sadiq Amin, Abdul Hakeem Shenwari, Muhammad Ishtiaq, Faiz Muhammad, Ziaul Haq, Abidullah, Faiz Rasool and Aftab Israr were from Chamber side whereas City university’s directors and faculty members along-with students were from university side.

While speaking on the occasion KPCCI president Zulfiqar welcomed the move and said that it will play a pivotal role in strengthening relations between KPCCI and Academia. He said that without education a society couldn’t be constituted. He said that Pakistan is the only country in the world of which 68 percent of the total population is youth.

The Chamber president further said that strengthening relations between academia and industry is necessary for attracting the youth towards trade and industry along-with quality education. He said that to bring awareness among youth seminars, workshops, and meetings on different topics would jointly be organized time to time.

On the occasion, VC City University Eng Prof Dr Ataullah Shah stressed the need for quality education along-with expanding education system. He said that to develop a better society, research and development would have to be developed. He also urged upon those related to trade and industry to play their due role in this connection.
