RECORDER REPORT

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Friday stayed recovery of 100 per cent fixed charges from the industries through electricity bills and sought replies from the Lahore Electricity Supply Company (LESCO) and Ministry of Water and power within fortnight.

The petitioner Shan Steel Industries through Muhammad Hassan Virk advocate submitted that SC had already settled that instead of 100 per cent 50 per cent fixed charges be recovered from the industries but the LESCO violating the Apex courts directions was recovering 100 percent fixed charges from the industries. The court stayed the recovery and called for a report from LESCO and the ministry within 15 days.
