ISLAMABAD: Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), Maulana Fazal-Ur-Rehman here Tuesday said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his recent statements had admitted Indian involvement in subversive activities in Pakistan.

India in an abortive attempt to divert the world attention from the brutal acts of the occupying Indian forces in held Kashmir had been sponsoring subversive activities in Pakistan, he remarked.

Talking to media at the lobby of the parliament house, he said the issue of Kashmir could be resolved if the world powers and the UN show seriousness towards the longstanding issue.

He said that Pakistan would continue unwavering political, diplomatic and ethical support to the just cause of Jammu and Kashmir at every forum. Maulana Fazal Ur Rehman condemned the Indian atrocities on the innocent and defenceless people of Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK), saying that thousands have fallen victim to the Indian army tactics.

On a question about long presence of Afghan refugees on Pakistani soil, he said their repatriation should not be carried out in hurry.

A proper mechanism be adopted for sending them back to their homeland, he added.

When asked to comment on references filed in the National Assembly by the opposition, he said such attempts would hardly bear fruit rather, he added. This would lead the country towards political instability.

"Politics of references is an immature political approach" and it should be stopped forthwith, Maulana said.

He said the National Action Plan should not be used as a tool for gaining political mileage. Rather he added, all stake-holders should implement it in letter and spirit.—APP
