PESHAWAR: Chief Minister, Pervez Khattak has agreed to the proposal for inaugurating of provincial government’s proposed project “Zamung Kor” in Nasapa for the welfare and rehabilitation of the street children on November 25.

He said Rs.400 million was approved for the project out of which Rs.157 millions grant-in-aid had already been released and the government will also arrange land for the project if required.

The chief minister directed to frame practical rules and regulations without any complications to achieve desired goals of the project. He also directed to take Shehzad Roy as a member of the board. He was presiding over a meeting at Chief Minister House to review progress on “Zamung Kor.”

The Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Azam Khan, Chairman Board Imtiaz Gilani and Shehzad Roy also attended.

The Chief Minister said that the basic purpose of the project is to impart better education and training to street children. The establishment of an effective and prosperous society, he said was a challenge for them. He said street children were also a part of this society and they had also the same rights on the resources like those of others. He said they would have to play their role for the welfare and prosperity of the street children.

Pervez Khattak said they would have to chalk out a plan to provide better education to these street children, who had been ignored since long. By providing better education and environment, he said street children could be made useful citizen and play their due role in society.
