KARACHI: Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) presented a certificate of ‘Training Organisation outside Practice’ (TOoP) to the Allied Bank Limited (ABL).

The ICAP launched ‘Training outside Practice’ earlier this year after it emerged as an international trend.

A ceremony was arranged at the ABL head office to present the certificate. Speaking on the occasion, ICAP President Hafiz Mohammad Yousaf emphasized on building a strong partnership with ABL. He also briefed about various initiatives that were undertaken by ICAP recently.

“This initiative opened opportunities for the students and those who were already employed in industry,” he said adding that now, Chartered Accountant’s trainee students would have the option to get training in the Training Organizations outside Practice (TOoP) also known as industrial training organizations, in addition to Training Organizations inside Practice (TOiP) also known as practicing CA firms.

President South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA), Naeem Akhtar Sheikh said that the partnership would bring bilateral benefits to both the organizations.

Chief Executive Officer of ABL Tariq Mahmood said that most of departments at ABL were headed by Chartered Accountants. He highly appreciated their competencies.

The COO ABL Tahir Hassan Qureshi proudly shared that ABL was one of the largest employers of the CA professionals in Pakistan and ICAP and ABL shared a common vision for prosperity of the country.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, on behalf of ABL, the CEO thanked the president ICAP for honouring ABL. He also assured his full co-operation for the success of this initiative.

The ceremony was also attended by Chairman Education and Training Committee (ETCOM) Syed Najamul Hussain, other council members and senior executives of ICAP and chief HR Shafique Ahmed Uqaili, CFO Farhanullah Khan and some other senior officials of ABL.
