HYDERABAD: The students of University of Sindh clinched Champions Trophy in the “4th All Sindh Inter-University Tri-lingual Declamation Contest” held at Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences, Jamshoro.

Sabeen Javed Umrani, the student of BS-I of Institute of English Language & Literature secured top slot (Urdu). On the other hand, Sarwat Anjum of Sindh University Thatta Campus bagged second position (English) in this contest out of 50 competing participants from 17 universities/ colleges/ institutions from across the province; whereas Asifa, student of Institute of Biotechnology & Genetic Engineering also participated in the declamation competition.

The winning students accompanied by Dr Fida Hussain Chandio, Director, Bureau of STAGS and Nadeem Butt, Deputy Director, STAGS called on Prof Dr Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, SU Vice-Chancellor, to present to him the happy tidings and compliments in person upon this spectacular victory.

Dr Kalhoro felicitating the winners observed that SU possessed a glorious track record of steady triumphs in co/extra-curricular fronts.

Dr Kalhoro maintained that an educated, liberated and confident female populace symbolized a progressive, enlightened and civilized society.

He stressed that University of Sindh had always walked an extra mile in extending maximum support to bona fide female students in the university. He made special mention of the facilities the university was providing by housing as many as 4,000 male and 1,500 female students in its dormitories.

He said that Higher Education Commission, Islamabad may kindly credit SU in annual ranking on account of this academic and community service.
