PESHAWAR: The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has introduced Internal Audit to further improve transparency and accountability in the government machinery.

This was stated by Khyber Pakkhtunkhwa Minister for Finance Muzaffar Said while addressing a meeting of the working group to review the implementation of “Internal Audit” of 11 important government departments of KP here in a local hotel on Thursday.

He said the provincial government was committed to improve governance and ensure transparency towards serving the people more effectively and the initiative by Assessment and Strengthening Program (ASP) and the KP Government.

He said they had to set examples of transparency and accountability rather than closing the eyes and merely blaming the others for corruption and nepotism. He asserted that considerable improvement had been noticed in transparent functioning of government departments due to the drastic steps of present coalition government in KP.
