KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Ejaz Ahmad Khan on Saturday said that no decision has been taken to close markets in Sindh by 7pm.

The city commissioner’s statement comes after traders and businessmen opposed the Sindh government’s decision to shut down markets by 7pm.

The orders were given in a meeting by Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah on Friday instructed the departments concerned to ensure that wedding halls are closed by 10pm starting November 1.

But the city commissioner today clarified that no decision has yet been taken regarding closure of market by 7pm.

The Commissioner said, he would personally meet all traders’ organisations and they would be consulted before any decision is taken.—INP
