LAHORE: Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq has said that the Army has no intention to launch a coup against the government.

Sadiq was speaking to media persons in his hometown Dharampura where a journalist asked him if the government suspects that Army will launch a coup, to which the NA speaker responded that there is nothing of the sort.

Sadiq termed the relations between the government and Army as pleasant.

The NA speaker said the Army is a part of the government and it has played an important part in establishing democracy in Pakistan.

He also said misunderstanding is being created between Army and government.—INP
