LAHORE: The first-ever six-day International PACES 2016 (Physical Agility and Combat Efficiency System) championship will get underway in Punjab provincial metropolis from October 18 (Tuesday).

Army teams of five countries-Sri Lanka, China, Jordan, Malaysia and Maldives have already arrived here to participate in the event.

The Pakistan Army is hosting the championship while teams of 16 countries have confirmed their participation in the championship.

The International PACES-2016 championship is the first ever mega sports event to be competed by over 370 participants from different countries.

The disciplines to be contested during the prime activity include: push-ups, chin ups, sit ups and combat efficiency test.
