ABU DHABI: Ambassador of Pakistan to UAE Moazzam Ahmed Khan has said that art and culture are an integral part of a civilisation. Such events are a tribute to the rich tapestry of culture and traditions that are the common heritage of the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan and indeed the entire region.

The Ambassador expressed these views while inaugurating an exclusive exhibition of art works held at the premises of the Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi. The exhibition titled “The Metanoia” has displayed works of Pakistani artist Zari Jafri and curated by Ayesha Imtiaz (poetic strokes).

The Ambassador said that promoting Zari Jafri’s works is our way of recognizing and appreciating the cross-cultural dimensions reflected in her work.

Zari Jafri spoke from her heart about her works, her love for Pakistan and her strong faith in God.” I let myself taken over by the movement of my brush upon canvas. I experienced rebirth with every stroke. I have always been a keen observer of people and life, a spirit who dreams of unity of mind, body and soul of this planet. That is what is reflected in my work i.e. humanity, love, compassion, divinity”.

The guest of honour and the founder of Abu Dhabi Art Hub, Khalid Al Yafei, appreciated the Embassy’s efforts in organizing such art related events and offered to collaborate more in future by offering Art Hub as a platform for interaction and cross cultural exchange between the artists from Pakistan and UAE.

The curator Ayesha Imtiaz also addressed the event, which was attended by large number of important dignitaries, diplomats and guests from the fields of art and culture.—PR
