LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has directed for working with optimum efficiency to complete Lahore Orange Line Metro train Project as per international standards so that it could become a show case of Pak-China friendship, besides providing a comfortable commuting facility to the citizens.

This was revealed Kh Ahmad Hassan, Chairman of the Steering Committee for the project, while presiding the weekly progress review meeting, here on Wednesday.

It was informed that construction of seven kilometres long elevated track of the Orange Line has been completed so far along with 5 stations at Dera Gujjran, Islam Park, Salamat Pura, Mehmood Booti and Pakistan Mint. These structures are being handed over to CR-NORINCO for laying lines for operating trains and doing other electrical and mechanical works.

It was informed that 63 percent civil work of the project has been completed. Progress on package-I from Dera Gujjaran, G T Road to Chuburji was79.87 percent, on package-II from Choburji to Ali Town was 48 percent; on Depot near Dera Gujran was 70.23 percent
