RECORDER REPORT

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM-Pakistan) on Wednesday released a white paper on the nine-year performance of Pakistan Peoples Party’s Sindh government at a pres conference held here at the Karachi Press Club.

Speaking on the occasion, MQM-P coordinator Dr Farooq Sattar took a strong exception to the quota system in the province, saying that this institutionalized divide between the urban and rural population, which is not existing in no other province of the country, is a cause of friction among the inhabitants.

“The system introduced more than 40 years ago to bring the rural population on a par with their urban counterparts, should have achieved its objectives by now,” he opined.

Accusing the Sindh governmene of lacking sincerity, he alleged that the Sindh’s feudal class was exploiting the situation at the cost of marginalized people.

The MQM-P leader also alleged that the provincial government had failed to share the federal funds with local government institutions of the urban centres in the province.

The MQM-P leader also alleged in the white paper that the PPP’s Sindh government during its nine-year rule had failed to deliver even to the inhabitants of its strongholds and that is why people across the province are leading a miserable life.
