KARACHI: The Karachi Port handled 341,990 tonnes of cargo comprising 301,141 tonnes of import cargo and 40,849 tonnes of export cargo including NA loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.

The total import cargo of 301,141 tonnes comprised of 108,209 tonnes of containerised cargo; 15,644 tonnes of general cargo; 51,123 tonnes of bulk cargo: 43,860 tonnes of coal; 7,263 tonnes of soyabean meal and 126,165 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargo of 40,849 tonnes comprised of 35,956 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,093 tonnes of rice and 1,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

There were eleven ships namely Wan Hai-501, Sabya, MSC Capri, MT Lahore, Crystal Sambu, Hanover Trader, Evolution, Common Spirit, Taj, Hong Prosperity and Han Ren carrying containers, oil tankers, fertilizer, coal and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There were nine vessels viz. Kota Lahir, Prosper, APL Japan, MSC Capri, Hanover Trader, Justice Victoria, MT Karachi, Calimero and Erietta carrying containers, oil tankers, coal and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

There were two ships namely Prosper and Navig-8 Spark carrying containers and chemical respectively sailed out to sea on Monday, while five ships namely Bodo Schulte, Justice Victoria, Al Mahboobah, Iris Tonb and Iris Naghdi carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical and general cargo respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday.

There was one vessel viz. X-Press Kailash carrying containers due to arrive on Monday while five vessels viz. MSC Alice, Northern Dependant, Oriental Rose, Caribbean Orchid and Antakyam carrying containers, chemical and coal respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 146,837 tonnes comprising 110,851 tonnes of import cargo and 35,986 tonnes of export cargo including 4,224 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.

The total import cargo of 110,851 tonnes includes 5,665 tonnes of diesel oil; 14,000 tonnes of palm oil; 2,490 tonnes of LPG; 19,666 tonnes of canola seeds; 24,760 tonnes of coal and 44,270 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 35,986 tonnes includes 35,986 tonnes of containerised cargo.

As many as 4,224 containers comprising of 2,330 containers import and 1,894 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.

There were two ships namely CV X-Press Kailash and CV Tomoko carrying containers sailed out to sea on Monday morning.

A total number of nine vessels viz. CV X-Press Kailash, CV Tomoko, CV Hermes, MV Jia Yu Shan, MV Qing Hu Shan, MV Wel Hero, MV Black Pearl-110, Gennaro Ievol and MT Serengeti currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, canola seeds, LPG, palm oil and diesel oil respectively during the last 24 hours.

As many as fourteen ships namely CV Al Bahia, CV MSC Mykonos, MV Trade UN, MV Stolt Viking, MV Clipper Viking, MV New York, MV Iris-II, MT Formosa UN, MT Al Dasma, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Navig-8 Executive, MT CH Zephyr, MT Harmony-1 and MT Able Sailor carrying canola seeds, coal, LPG, diesel oil and furnace oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were two vessels viz. CV Al Bahia and CV MSC Mykonos carrying containers expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Monday.

There were six ships namely CV Safmarine Ngami, CV Maersk Atlantic, CV Maersk Stepnic, CV San Flex, CV Hugo Schulte and CV CMA CGM Nervel carrying containers due to arrive on Monday.

There is one ships namely CV Maersk Atlanta carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
