LAHORE: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Capt retd Usman Khatak has said that photographs, fingerprints and all relevant particulars of criminals should be updated in Criminal Record Management System (CRMS) regularly.

The record of accused persons arrested in cases registered in any police station across the Punjab should immediately be uploaded into the system. He also directed to establish CRMS offices at circle level after he was briefed in the meeting that existing CRMS offices are working at district level. He directed to prepare a comprehensive plan for this purpose and send it to the government for approval without any delay.

The IGP stated this while presiding over a meeting held at Central Police Office (CPO) here on Thursday to review performance of information technology projects of the Punjab police.

Additional IGP Operations Punjab Mohsin Hassan Butt, Addl IGP Welfare and Finance Shoaib Dastgir, DIG Operations Punjab Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, DIG IT Humayun Bashir Tarar, DIG Welfare Waseem Siyal, DIG Shahid Hanif, AIG Monitoring Rai Babar, AIG Operations Akhtar Abbas, AIG Training Athar Waheed, AIG Finance Ghazi Salahuddin and other officers were also present in the meeting.
