ISLAMABAD: The incidents of robberies and thefts, car lifting and kidnappings recorded a significant increase in the last week despite visibly heightened security in federal Capital.

According to data gathered by Business Recorder here on Saturday, the various police stations of the city registered 12 cases of thefts including robbery, snatching and burglary. Six cases of motor vehicle theft and one case of kidnapping were registered during the period.

The criminal gangs had a field day within the limits of Koral, Lohi Bher, Aabpara, Kohsar, Karachi Company and Secretariat police stations.

During the last week, Koral police station registered two cases of robbery and one case each of murder and auto theft.

One Uyas Nawaz informed Koral police station that four armed persons intercepted him when he was on his way home and snatched two mobile phones and laptop from him at gunpoint.

Another, Javed Iqbal lodged a complaint with Koral police station that unknown people shot dead his brother-in-law namely Zafar. Some unknown robbers stormed into the house of Tauqeer Asim located in the limits of Koral police station and looted cash and other valuables.

Motor vehicle thieves stole a bike bearing registration number KRC-4838 of Attaullah Shah parked in front of his house.

Lohi Bher police station registered overall three cases of murder, kidnapping and auto theft. One victim Majid Hussain informed Lohi Bher police station that the accused Khalil, Raja Muhammad Haif shot dead his father Sajjad Hussain.

Another Akash Maskeen registered a complaint with Lohi Bher police station that unknown people abducted his nephew. The car lifters a suzuki van bearing registration number AAJ-052 of Aqib Shah parked in front of his house.

Secretariat police station registered one case each of robbery and auto theft. One Nasreen Akhtar registered a complaint with Secretariat police station that gold ornaments and cash were stolen from his house and he suspected that an accused Asad might be involved in this regard.

The thieves stole a bike bearing registration number MBK-2505 of Muhammad Irfan.

During the period, Aabpara police station registered one case each of robbery and auto theft. The auto thieves stole a car bearing registration number (MNP-83) of Samar Iqbal parked in front of his house.

In another incident, Asim Ali registered a complaint with Aabpara police station that three armed persons snatched an ATM card and cash from him at gunpoint.

During the period, Karachi Company police station registered one case each of snatching and auto theft. Mirza Usman Baig lodged a complaint with Karachi Company police station that two armed persons snatched two mobile phones and cash from him at sector G-9/2.

Another Muhammad Umar informed the same police station that auto thieves stole his car bearing registration number LOX-1886.

Kohsar police station registered two cases of robbery. Muhammad Ali informed Kohsar police station that unknown robbers stole a ceiling fan from his house.

Another, Nisar Azeem registered a complaint with Kohsar police station that unknown robbers stole two mobile phones from his shop.

Golra and Khanna police station registered one case each of robbery while Ramna and Shalimar police stations registered one case of kidnapping.
