PESHAWAR: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday announced public holidays in connection with Eid-ul-Fitr from June 26 to 28, said a notification of the Administration department.

While, the arrangements are being made to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on the same day across the country by the federal government, however it’s feared that Eid would be celebrated on the day the central committee would sit to sight the moon as the local committee of Masjid Qasim Ali Khan led by Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai would sit on June 24 to sight the Shawwal crescent.

It was reported that People in parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa are likely to celebrate Eidul Fitr on the announcement of Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai on the day Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be looking to sight the Shawwal moon in Peshawar.

According media reports, the unofficial moon sighting Ruet-e-Hilal Committee led by Mufti Shahabuddin Poplazai will hold meeting on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman has announced that the team will sight Shawwal moon 1438 Hijri in Peshawar this year.

According to the details, the meeting will be held on June 25 at Aiwan e Auqaf - Eidgah, Charsada Road in Peshawar.
