PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education, Muhammad Atif Khan on Friday that KP government was providing quality education to Afghan refugees’ children besides others with its own resources without discrimination to make them useful citizens of the society.

Talking to US Consul General, Raymond McGrath here, he said under new education policy of KP government, the quota of girls’ schools was increased from 35 percent to 70 percent besides setting up of 1450 community schools.

He said the KP education budget had been increased from Rs 61 billion to Rs 138 billion with 113 percent increase during last four years.

The IT laboratories has been increased from 179 to 1340 in government schools and Rs 25 billion were spent so far on provision of missing facilities to government schools. The US counsel general appreciated the efforts made by the KP Government for promoting education sector in the province.
