ISLAMABAD: The total registered voters in the country have exceeded a figure of 97 million, according to an updated voter list issued by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) here on Friday.

It is also expected that number of voters will exceed 100 million till 2018 general election.

The ECP has updated the electoral rolls after six months. The list carries male voters up to 56 percent while female voters constitute up to 44 percent of the total electorates.

The data indicates that registered voters in Punjab are over 55.8 million; Sindh, over 20.64 million, KPK, over 14 million; Balochistan, over 3.7 million; FATA, over 2.1 million; and Islamabad capital territory (ICT), 694,000.

There is still 12 percent of difference between male and female voters, which couldn’t be sorted out yet.
