KARACHI: The Met Office on Tuesday forecast rain-thunderstorm with isolated heavy to very heavy falls in upcountry in the next 24 hours.

It said that light rain is also likely to fall across the coastal belt of Sindh over the period. Rain is expected in parts of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, D G Khan, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Zhob and Kalat Divisions, besides FATA, Islamabad and Kashmir.

“Seasonal low lies over north Balochistan. Monsoon currents are penetrating in upper/central parts of the country and likely to continue during next few days.

Weather Forecast for next 12 hours,” the Met said.

In the last 24 hours: Rain-thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls occurred at a number of places in Gujranwala, Rawalpindi divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Lahore, Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Zhob, Quetta and Karachi divisions. Weather remained hot and humid in other parts of the country.

In Kashmir, maximum rainfall was recorded in Rawalakot as 98 mm, Kotli 26 mm, Muzaffarabad 24 mm, Garhi Dupatta 13 mm. In Punjab, Sialkot (City 65, Airport 9 mm), Islamabad (Saidpur 64 mm, Zero Point 39 mm, Bokra 37 mm, Gujranwala 51 mm, Rawalpindi (Chaklala 34 mm, Shamsabad 23 mm), Murree 31 mm, Lahore (City 18 mm, Airport 9 mm), Kamra 10 mm, Gujrat 9 mm.

In Khyber Pukhtunkhwa: Risalpur 40 mm, Lower Dir 36 mm, Kakul 21 mm, Malamjabba 17 mm, Balakot 11 mm, Saidu Sharif 4 mm. In Sindh: Karachi (Airport, Gulshan-e-Hadeed 3 mm, Masroor Base, University Road, Nazimabad, 2 mm, Saddar, Faisal Base, Jinnah Terminal 1 mm). In Balochistan: Zhob 6 mm, Barkhan 1 mm. Maximum temperature was recorded in Dalbandin as 47 degrees Celsius, Nokkundi 46, Sibbi and Dadu 44, each.
