ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif on Monday underlined the need for strengthening relations with neighbouring countries.

According to Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria, the foreign minister met senior officers of Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In a Twitter message, Zakaria said that the foreign minister expressed concern over the current human rights situation in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

As his first visit after becoming the foreign minister, the sources said that Khawaja Asif visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he was given a detailed briefing on foreign policy issues and relations with the neighbouring countries including Afghanistan and India.
