RECORDER REPORT

KARACHI: The special assistant to the chief minister of Sindh for inter-provincial coordination, Nawab Taimoor Talpur, has said that delay in the release of preliminary census data is causing worries among the people of the smaller units of federation, and asked the federal government to release the data without further delay.

Talking to journalists, Nawab Taimur Talpur said that the federal government failed to perform its constitutional responsibilities and is merely paying attention to arrangement of its political gatherings. He said that after failure on the National Finance Commission Award, distribution of water resources among the provinces and equal shares of development schemes, the federal government is using delaying tactics on releasing census preliminary data.

“This attitude of the federal government of the N-League towards the smaller units of federation is causing disappointment among the people and is giving the impression that Punjab is only Pakistan is gaining ground,”, he added.
