KARACHI: Sindh Board of Investment (SBI) has discussed the programme of signing an agreement on mutual cooperation between the Sindh government and government of Saint Petersburg–Russian federation.

According to details, the proposed agreement was discussed between the SBI chairperson Naheed Memon and the Russian Ambassador to Pakistan, Alexey Yurivich Dedov, at Islamabad. The matter concerning Russian investment in Pakistan was also discussed on the occasion.

Naheed also called for expediting the matter of signing the agreement of mutual cooperation by the Saint Petersburg government and hoped that the Sindh chief minister will visit Saint Petersburg to sign it.

The relations between Pakistan and Russia were deep and old and the Pakistan Steel Mills was a living example of these relations, the SBI chief said, adding that the proposed Sindh-Saint Petersburg agreement will further strengthen the ties between the two countries.

The Russian ambassador assured the SBI chief that he would talk to the concerned officials in Russia about signing of the agreement so as to finalize the programme as soon as possible.
