KARACHI: The Met Office on Thursday forecast a heat wave for the city during the next two days with temperature up to 33 degrees Celsius.

Partially cloudy weather with chances of drizzles is expected on Friday and Saturday, as humidity has been forecast to soar to 85 percent over the period.

“Seasonal low lies over north Balochistan. Moist currents are penetrating upper parts of the country and likely to continue during next few days. A westerly wave is likely to affect upper parts of the country tonight,” the Met said.

On Friday: Scattered rain-thunderstorm with a few heavy falls and gusty winds is expected in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Bannu and Kohat Divisions, besides Islamabad, FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Isolated rain-thunderstorm is likely in D.I Khan, D.G Khan and Zhob Divisions. Light rain/drizzle is also expected at a few places across Sindh coast while hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the country. Maximum rainfall was recorded in Murree as 57mm, Saidu Sharif 46, Islamabad (Saidpur 43mm, Zero Point 27mm, Golra 19mm, Bokra 5 mm), Sialkot (City 39 mm, Airport 4mm), Kakul and Kotli 28mm, each, Rawalpindi (Shamsabad 25mm, Chaklala 20mm), Rawalakot 24, Kamra 21mm, Malamjabba 17, Balakot 11, Gujrat 10 mm, Mangla 3 mm. Highest temperature was recorded in Dalbandin 45 degrees Celsius and Nokkundi 44 over the last 24 hours.
