HYDERABAD: University of Sindh will be celebrating 70th Independence Day with zeal and fervour on Monday the 14th August, 2017.

As per notification issued by Registrar, University of Sindh the flag hoisting and National Anthem ceremonies will be held at University of Sindh, Allama I.I. Kazi Campus Jamshoro, Elsa Kazi Campus Hyderabad, University of Sindh Laar Campus Badin, Sindh University Campus Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Campus Dadu, Sindh University Campus Thatta, Sindh University Campus Larkana and Sindh University Campus Naushahro Feroze respectively at 8:00 am (or time prescribed by the Government of Pakistan). Vice-Chancellor, University of Sindh Prof Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat will be the Chief Guest for this ceremony at the main campus at Jamshoro.

The Pro-Vice-Chancellors and Focal Persons of the Varsity’s campuses will preside over the ceremony at their respective campuses. The University has also ensured transport facilities for teachers, officers, employees and students of the University. The University buses shall ply on the usual routes i.e. at 7:00 am from Latifabad, Qasimabad, Hussainabad, Kotri via University of Sindh, Elsa Kazi Campus, Hyderabad and from Goods Naka, Hyderabad. One bus shall ply at 7:15 am from Sindh University residential colony, Sindh University Employees Housing Society, Jamshoro to University of Sindh, Elsa Kazi Campus, Hyderabad. All the Sindh University faculty members, officers and administrative staff are requested to attend the Independence Day ceremony on Sunday the 14th August, 2017 at 7:30 am positively.

The ceremony will comprise hoisting of national flag, national anthem, passing out parade by Pakistan Rangers, Sindh Police, SU Security Guards and SU school scouts, recitation from the Holy Qura’an, rendering of Naat, formal speeches by the Vice-Chancellor and other dignitaries recounting the struggle for independent country and emphasizing the role of youth in the development of the country, distribution of sweets, speeches by SU school children underlining the sacrifices of national heroes of Pakistan, presentation of tableaus, accentuating national spirit and aspirations, sports competitions by SU employees and a horde of other festivities.
