LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Thursday demolished illegal structures and sealed many of them for violating building by-laws.
During an inspection of structures at various housing societies and controlled areas of LDA, the Town Planning Wing discovered seven structures that did not follow the building by-laws, so four of them were demolished while three were sealed.
Two illegally constructed rooms in a marble factory in controlled area of Defence Road near Sadaat Timber House, and three rooms in another marble and tiles factory, opposite to Lahore Avenue, were demolished. Shutters of a service station opposite to Gaffar Chowk in Iqbal Avenue-I, Phase-II, were also knocked down. Moreover, constructions in Mohlanwal Housing Scheme, Jubilee Town and Wapda Town Phase-I were sealed on account of illegal commercial activity.
