PESHAWAR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter celebrated the Independence Day of Pakistan by organizing an impressive ceremony at the residence of the provincial president, Mohammad Hamayun Khan.

Besides, the provincial leadership and the party workers, representatives of the People’s Students Federation (PSF), People’s Youth Organization (PYO), PPP Minorities Wing and people from various walks of life attended the ceremony.

On this occasion, a cake was also cut, which was followed by special prayers for the security, progress and peace of Pakistan, martyrs of Pakistan Army and success of Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and PPP.

Speaking at the Independence Day ceremony, the Mohammad Hamayun Khan congratulated the nation on celebrating the 70th anniversary of Independence Day and pledged to work for the progress and development of the country.

“Our forefathers had rendered unprecedented sacrifices in the struggle of the independence, which could not be forgotten,” he said, reiterating that they would not forget the sacrifices of the martyrs of Pakistan.

The PPP KP chapter president further said that Pakistan belongs to its whole population including minorities and all segments of society.
