PESHAWAR: An officer of Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom during firing by terrorists from across the border in Rajgal, Khyber Agency.

According to Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR) unknown militants opened indiscriminate firing on the forces post from the Afghanistan side and as result Lieutenant Arslan Alam received fatal bullet wounds and short after embraced Shahadat.

Lieutenant Arsalan Alam was 22 years old, the statement said.

In retaliation, three militants were killed and two others got injure, ISPR said.

The militants took the bodies of their dead colleagues and fled to Afghanistan, it added and said massive search operation was launched in the area.

Lieutenant Arslan Alam had been deployed as Commanding Officer on the front post at the Pak-Afghan border in hilly area of Rajgal. He was 22 years old and

was only male child of his parent.

In August, military spokesman Major General Asif Ghafoor said the Operation Khyber-4 in Rajgal Valley had been successfully completed.

The operation was launched to wipe out terrorists in the valley by targeting their hideouts.
