KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that drop out of the students, specially of the girls students is a matter of concern and it must be addressed at any cost.

“Not only education department, but all stakeholders also have to work remaining on same page with great enthusiasm to bring the things back on right track, in this regard,” he said, presiding over the 10th Board of Governors meeting of the Sindh Teacher Development Authority (STEDA).

Dahar further said that a certain standard had to be fixed for recruitment of teachers and non-teaching staff as well, to enhance quality education.

He said that there were multiple solutions to the problems hence we must ponder upon the solutions.

He assured that no compromise would be made on quality education and quality training of the teachers “We have to strengthen the institutions and if it is needed we shall hire market-based staff to run the institutions,” he emphasized saying that only result-oriented people would survive in the department and as per policy of education department, the institutions would be upgraded and professionalism would be promoted in the department.

Secretary Schools Aziz Uqaili, director STEDA Abdul Majeed Bhurt, chairman STBB, chairman BISE and other officers also attended the meeting.
