PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khan Khattak has said that Pakistan can’t make progress unless class-based education system removed saying that the provincial government is trying its level best to ensure equal education system.

He was addressing teachers here at Chief Minister House on Thursday in connection with World Teachers’ Day. A large number of government schools principals and teachers participated in the ceremony.

He said that every government was claiming to bring better education as their first priority but when the PTI-led provincial government came into power, there were plight conditions of the educational institutes particularly of prime schools.

The schools, he said that the PTI-led government had given priority with a huge amount in the budget was allocated in order to provide all required and basic facilities as per standard. However, he added that it also started imparting proper training to the teachers and ensured full attendance of the ghost teachers.

Over 23000 teachers have been imparted training up to now and the rest are being facilitated with it, he added that the government trying for quality education in the government-run schools.

Regarding bad results in government schools, he informed that notices to 183 teachers had been issued for their bad results while 1680 teachers were bestowed with prizes for their good performance.

He expressed his hope that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is on the top of the list in field of education and pledged to provide furniture to all government prime schools till end of the current year.

Ministers and members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs) including Education Minister Atif Khan and Qalandar Lodhi were also present in the ceremony, while cash prizes were distributed among schools obtaining the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
