PESHAWAR: The qualifying rounds of all the five categories of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) National Junior Squash Championship is commencing from today (Monday) here at PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex.

Talking to media, Officer Commanding PAF Sports Control Board Committee Sqr. Ldr. Saif Ur Rehman informed that all arraignments in this connection have already been made while the arrival of the players would be completed by Sunday evening.

He said the CAS National Junior Squash Championship is an annual feature of the Pakistan Squash Federation calendar which carrying a prize money of Rs. 0.5 million for all five categories comprising Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19.

He said Munawar Zaman has nominated as Chief Referee of the Championship with Mehboob Khan, Nazir Ahmad, Gulab Sher, Karam Khan (Peshawar), Sajjad, Imran and Asim (Punjab) and Nasim (Sindh) will be the referees.

A total of 32 players will be taking part in each of the five different age group categories – 12 players will be in the main round and four have to qualify from the two-day qualifying rounds to be played on Monday and Tuesday before the main round on Wednesday.
