HYDERABAD: Special meeting of the Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB) of University of Sindh was held at Vice-Chancellor’s office on Thursday with VC-SU Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat in the chair.

The meeting approved award of PhD degree to scholar, M. Phil degrees to 12 scholars and MS degree to 01 scholar.

The meeting resolved that henceforth all those candidates who would be seeking admission to PhD program would need to submit GRE Subject Test pass certificate as per set standard of passing; without which their admission forms would not be accepted.

In addition, the board constituted a committee to examine the issue of transfer of M. Phil candidates to PhD program of studies and thereby formulate and float its recommendations to this effect.

The meeting approved award of PhD to one candidate namely Muhammad Akhtar Rind (Library and Information Sciences).

The house also approved award of M. Phil degrees to 12 candidates in the order cited ahead: Jan-e-Alam Solangi (Media & Communication Studies), Naseer Ahmed Khan and Nazir Ahmed (Commerce), Abdul Wahid Arisar, Muhammad Anwar, Sabah Zeb Ghouri Pathan and Saira Bano (English), Jamil Ahmed (Computer Science), Dilip Kumar (Microbiology), Muhammad Nawab, Munir Ahmed Prince Baloch and Tehniyat Naz (Zoology); whereas, the meeting approved award of MS (Commerce) to one candidate Muhammad Jaffer.

SU Registrar Sajid Qayoom Memon, Director Graduate Studies Dr. Ashique Hussain Jhatial and learned members of the board were in attendance in the meeting.
