QUETTA: Funeral prayer of 15 laborers shot dead in Buleda area of Turbat city in Balochistan province was offered here on Thursday.

Commander Southern Command Lt General Asim Saleem Bajwa, Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri, and people from other walks of life attended the funeral prayer.

Meanwhile, grief, gloom, and sadness pervaded the houses of the families of the 15 labourers, who were shot dead in cold blood in Buleda area of Turbat in Balochistan province.

Four of the 15 victims still remain to be identified.

Three of the victims hailed from Mandi Bahauddin, three from Sialkot, two were from Gujranwala, one was a resident of Gujrat while one hailed from Cantt.

The victims were murdered on the first leg of their journey overseas in search of jobs and better future.

The families of Zafran Zahid, Muhammad Ilyas, and Abdul Ghafoor were overwhelmed by grief and sorrow over the senseless killings of their dear ones in cold blood in far off Turbat. Their murders have also put entire Sialkot city under shadows of dark grief.

Phalia’s Khurram Shahzad too left his family grieved and crying. He had left home for Turkey 17 days ago along with an agent named Navaid.

Azhar Waqas and Zulfiqar were residents of Mandi Bahauddin while Ahsan Raza and Ghulam Rabbani hailed from Gujranwala. Ghulam Rabbani’s family, friends, acquaintances, and the residents of the area as well as the city are all sad and grieved.

Gujrat’s Saifullah had embarked on the journey for the good future of his children, a dream that would not come true now after Saifullah’s barbaric killing. He had left on the journey not knowing that he was barbarically killed during the initial phase of the long journey.

All the victims of the senseless slaughter wanted to go to Europe illegally via Iran.—INP
