PESHAWAR: Speakers at a seminar “peace” have underlined that positive thinking and guaranteeing of rights to every Pakistani citizen, are the main factors in bringing tranquility in a society.

They said that without positive thinking and having honor and dignity for each other including respect of religions, establishment of peace may remain a dream not in a real position. The seminar titled, “Community Forum” organized by Individual Land (IL) held here at local hotel the other day.

Representatives from Hindu, Sikh, Christians, civil societies and students participated in the seminar while those spoke on the occasion were included Haroon Sarab Diyal (Hindu), Rajesh Singh Tony, Joseph John, a Pastor, Taimoor Kamal, Chairman Pakistan Mazdoor Kisan Party (PMKP) Afzal Khamoosh and Sundas of IL shared their views regarding peace.

They said that every community was in need of positive role models or agents of peace that are rightly placed to promote and highlight the importance of peace in a community. They particularly Haroon and Tony said that they belonged to very poor families and could not even imagine raising voice for the minority rights by having a fright in their hearts of hailing from non-Muslim community, but after got education, they are able to take the matter to proper forum.

This is the role of media to acquaint us with constitution of Pakistan for rights of citizens sans any discrimination whether Muslims or non-Muslims, so we also are Pakistani citizens, are facilitated with, they added.

Highlighting issues being faced by the non-Muslims, the representatives of minorities said that on community level, they have no problems but due hatred literature in books, were the main hurdles in their progress and development, as such kind speech create hate against non-Muslims, which is tantamount to disturb peaceful atmosphere.

Chairman, Pakistan Mazdoor Kisan Party (PMKP) Afzal Khamosh alleged that there were less states, which wants peace and some states wish disturbance in all over the world for their interest adding that technology is not for inhuman benefit but for a business and then, to promote their business, they use religions. He said that everyone consider human being as the best creature of the Creator without discrimination of religion, peace will itself be established.

In the seminar, a Minority Monitor Desk (MMD) was also formed aimed at highlighting issues being faced by non-Muslims in the country.
