PESHAWAR: Speakers and educationists at a seminar have stressed the need for introduction of uniform education system in the country and increase in financing to education sector.

The seminar titled ‘Role of curriculum in nations building’ was organised by the NAFE (National Association for Education) at press club here on Saturday. Prof Mohammad Ibrahim Khan, Jamaat-e-Islami provincial leader, was chief guest on the occasion.

Noted speakers included the organisation central director, Hidayat Khan, Regional Director Mahfooz Khan, Dr Mohmmad Afaqi, Dr Salauddin, and others. The seminar was attended by a large number of educationists, including principles, teachers, representatives of civil society organisation, members of NAFE, and people from different walks of life.

Educationists, on the occasion highlighted the importance of a uniform educational system, which, according to them, is essential to achieve targets and other sustainable development goals, as well as prevention of class-based education in the country. They viewed that curriculum plays a vital role in nation building. They called for development of education curriculum in the light with constitution and ideology of the country.

The speakers viewed that the education plays a key role for brining positive change in the society. They further added that it was essential to make serious efforts for promotion of quality education along with provision of facilities at the education institutions in the province.

The participants demanded that the introduction of a uniform education system all over the country could wipe out the class division, besides promotion of academic and research activities at the education institutions. During a question hour session, Prof Mohammad Ibrahim said that the Jamaat-e-Islami has initiated a struggle for the elimination of class-based educational system in the province.
