BEIJING: “Pakistani media will fully support China for carrying forward its opening-up policy, as it going to lead to World’s prosperity and help overcoming socio-economic disparities.”

This was stated by Pakistan’s representative Syed Asif Salahuddin, while addressing Asian Media summit on Monday at the Chinese city of Hainan province. The media’s gathering from the Asian countries took place ahead of Summit meeting, Boao Forum of Asia that begins on Tuesday.

World leaders including Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will attend the summit, to be inaugurated by President Xi Jinping. Zhang Xiaoying, President of China Economic Daily was the coordinator of the Media summit’s discussion.

Syed Asif Salahuddin, Chief Editor Independent News Pakistan (INP) highlighted the positive reporting of the Pakistani media in promoting President Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) as well as the Sino-Pak strategic partnership. He hoped that Pakistan will be the main beneficiary of the BRI, under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

“My country is looking forward to go “hand-in-hand” with our iron brother China for pushing forward the opening-up policy. CPEC, being the flag-ship project of the BRI is progressing very well and bringing tangible benefits not only for Pakistan but for the entire region”, he added.

Pakistan believes that the China’s economic reforms and opening-up policy is the only way forward for promoting living standard of the common man, as well as addressing the issues relating to poverty and social injustices.

Asif Salahuddin further said, “We in the country, particularly the Pakistani media celebrates China’s success’s story in a big way. We believe China’s success is our success.”

China is the best friend of Pakistan World over and they are proud of it.

He hoped the Boao Forum and the Prime Minister’s presence at this high-profile event will further contribute to consolidating this relationship as well as promoting people-to-people contacts.—INP
