KARACHI: The rupee maintained almost last levels against the dollar on the money market on Wednesday in the process of trading, money experts said.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: The rupee was unchanged moved versus the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 115.60 and Rs 115.61 respectively, they said.

In the third Asian trade, the dollar traded near a two-week low against a basket of currencies on Wednesday after Chinese President Xi Jinping's promise to cut import tariffs eased concerns about a U.S.-China trade conflict.

The dollar index versus a basket of six major peers last stood at 89.588, trading within sight of a low of 89.542 set on Tuesday, its lowest level since March 28.

The dollar was trading against the Indian rupee at Rs 64.985, the greenback was at 3.865 versus the Malaysian ringgit and the US currency was at 6.284 in relation to the Chinese yuan.

OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee did not move any side against the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 116.10 and Rs 116.50 respectively, while the rupee lost 25 paisas in relation to the euro for buying and selling at Rs 143.00 and Rs 144.50 respectively, they added.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee depreciated on buying side while it stayed firmed on selling side in relation to the greenback in the local currency market on Wednesday.

According to currency dealers, the greenback resumed trading on its overnight closing of Rs 116.20 and Rs 116.70 as its buying and selling rates, respectively. At the close, it gained by 10 paisas for buying at Rs 116.30. However, it firmly held its opening trend for selling at Rs 116.70, they added.

In addition, the national currency failed to sustain as it registered reduction versus the pound sterling. Resultantly, the pound's buying and selling rates rose from Tuesday's closing of Rs 162.00 and Rs 163.00 to Rs 163.50 and Rs 164.50 respectively, they said.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The value of dollar against the rupee remained unchanged at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Wednesday.

The dollar opened at Rs 116.70 (buying) and Rs 116.80 (buying) against same last rate. It closed at Rs 116.70 (buying) and Rs 116.80 (buying).
