HYDERABAD: University of Sindh, Jamshoro has grabbed 3rd top rank in the 6th Lailpur Art and Literature Festival organized by Agriculture University Faisalabad.

To acknowledge the outstanding performance of the SU winner youth brigade, Bureau of Students Tutorial Guidance, Counselling and Co-curricular Services (STAGS) of the varsity convened a simple yet elegant ceremony at Senate Hall of the VC Secretariat on Wednesday, which was presided over by VC SU Prof Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat.

The SU students bagged top positions in ‘Qirrat’, ‘Naat’, essay writing, declamation, photography, painting, parliamentary debate, agriculture models, calligraphy, Sketching, wall-Street, web designing, speed programming, mobile app development and other festival features by clinching 3rd overall rank among 27 competing universities and 6 colleges.

Extending rich tributes to SU Director STAGS Dr Sumera Umrani, team accompanying faculty Dr Zeeshan Ali Bhatti, Rabella Abro, SU event coordinators Javed Larik and Muhammad Junaid Malik and academic heads and faculty of the departments/institutes to which the triumphant youth belonged, Dr Burfat said he was extremely proud of the SU students’ stunning performance and subsequent laudable success of the festival.

“I am overjoyous to learn that our team has been able to win top notches in 18 out of total 22 categories of the competition,” Dr Burfat expressed.

Dr Burfat also voiced delight over SU students’ uncanny ability to subtly balance performance at both curricular and extracurricular fronts.

Adding to his assertions on the occasion, Dr Burfat mentioned that the world was in a state of unbelievably fast flux. “This fast-paced change mandates us, especially you youth to equally rapidly adapt you to those changes,” he stressed.

On the occasion, Dr Burfat also went vis-a-vis and live with the students, discussing with them their problems, issuing on-the-spot orders for resolution and seeking proposals for further efficient working.
