BEIJING: Shaukat Aziz, the former prime minister of Pakistan, was elected member of Board of Directors of the Boao Forum for Asia.

The general meeting of members of the Boao Forum for Asia, held during the annual meeting, elected the new board of directors. Ban Ki-moon, former secretary-general of the United Nations, replaced Yasuo Fukuda, former Japanese prime minister, to become the new chairman of the 19-member Board of Directors.

According to a resolution of the new board, Fukuda, along with other 10 outgoing members of the previous board, are invited to the Council of Advisers.

Zhou Xiaochuan, former vice-chairman of China’s top political advisory body and former governor of the People’s Bank of China, replaced Zeng Peiyan as the chief representative of China to the BFA—APP
