RECORDER REPORT

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan-Bahadurabad Group on Thursday accused Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)-led Sindh Government of being “biased” and strongly reacted to banning of Urdu language in Sindh University Jamshoro.

This act of Sindh University is clear deviation from the principles set by Founding Father Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who declared Urdu “national language” of the new country after its inception in 1947, MQM Pakistan-Bahadurabad leader Kanwar Naveed Jameel stated at a press conference along with the members of its Coordination Committee.

Jameel noted that Urdu is national language of the country and whoever opposes it is enemy of Pakistan and added that Urdu speaking community is also subjected to discrimination when it is deprived of its due rights. He pointed out that Urdu speaking people are also deprived of their due share in government jobs and stated that it is unfortunate that a biased government has been imposed on the people of Karachi.

MQM-Bahadurabad leader also recalled ten years rule of PPP in Sindh and said the provincial government didn’t build a new educational institution and hospital in Karachi. “This government turned Karachi into ruins because of its anti-Karachi policy”, he remarked.

Jameel said that injustices are not ended as conspiracies have been hatched to deprive people of Karachi from their mandate through maneuvering in the delimitation of constituencies in the city.

He also deplored about the attitude of national political parties, which have been continuously turning a blind eye towards the acts and policies of PPP’s biased government in Sindh.

“If people of Pakistan are concerned about the integrity of the country then they should raise voices against the injustices being meted out to people of Karachi”, he mentioned.

He also believed that it is because of biased rulers of Sindh if voices for creation of new provinces in Sindh gained momentum. “If injustices are not stopped &/ people of Urban Sindh decided then a new federating unit is destined to be carved out”, he added.
